We offer 3 levels of insulation for your Transporter, each with a distinct purpose in isolation, or if used together compliment each other.

Level 1 insulation is primarily thermal insulation, but has inherent acoustic insulating properties also. During a level 1 insulation process we use a non dusty fibrous type insulation which is put into all accessible voids to prevent heat loss from your vehicle. Good thermal insulation in a camper greatly reduces any condensation forming on the panels of your vehicle as the warm air is prevented from meeting the metal panels where air can reach its dew point and condensation occurs. Level 1 insulation will also make any van/camper quieter whilst driving as it helps to reduce the road noise heard in side the vehicle.

Level 2 insulation has excellent acoustic insulating properties as it involves a self adhesive closed cell foam measuring 7mm thick being applied to the inside of all accessible body panels. This has the effect of sound deadening the panel, cutting down resonance and unwanted noise in the vehicle. This insulating material also has a foil coating facing inwards which helps to reflect heat back into the vehicle, thus retaining heat. It also has the effect of helping to keep the vehicle cool in the summer by reflecting heat away. It also has the advantage of being lightweight, flame resistant and resistant to chemicals. When used in conjunction with Level 1 insulation the combined thermal and acoustic insulating properties are superb.

Level 3 insulation is an acoustic insulator. This process involves the application of a 2mm thick butyl rubber and foil material to the inside of body panels as a sound deadener. This process helps to reduce road noise, engine noise or the vibration of a panel from a speaker. Level 3 insulation has no major thermal insulating benefits, but can be used in conjunction with Level 1 and/or Level 2.
